  • What is a “playdate”?
    Throughout the day, we hold 2 hour minutes sessions called a “playdate” - during this session, you and your child have access to our state-of-the-art indoor playground, our imaginative tiny town play area, all activities, and our curated children’s library. Your kids can play freely throughout the cafe, while you relax and enjoy your time in our clean, comfortable environment.
  • Can we use our own/other play space socks?
    We do require kids to wear Backyard Play Cafe play socks. Our socks are specifically designed for indoor playground use, with a unique grip pad on the bottom to help children play safely. New pairs are $5 per pair, and you can bring them back again and again for future playdates!
  • What age should my child be to play in the playground?
    There is no age limit for the playground. It is rated for kids as young as 6 months, and kids as old as 12-14 have had fun while playing with younger siblings/cousins/etc. There is a section designed for babies and toddlers, and all kids have fun crawling and sliding around the rest of the playground.
  • Can I go into the playground with my child?
    Yes! Adults are more than welcome to accompany their child in the gym. All we ask is that the adult is wearing socks - they do not have to be our Backyard Play Cafe play socks, but we do have large sizes available for purchase. There is a weight limit of 300lbs.
  • Can I drop off my child and go run errands?
    During a regular playdate or special event, adult supervision is required. We do have drop-off events from time to time (check out our Parent’s Night Out event!), where the adults are not required to stay and our staff will supervise the children! Please check in with our staff if you plan to leave your children with a teenager for supervision. Thanks for helping keep all the kiddos safe!
  • Can we bring our own food and drinks?
    You are welcome to bring in any food or beverage for your infant (under 1). All other outside food and drink is not allowed. We will happily fill your child’s water bottle and we have a delicious variety of allergen-friendly snacks and treats available for purchase in the cafe, as well as seasonal items. Try our gourmet bakery items or enjoy a fun snack while you’re here!
  • When is the playground cleaned?
    Every playdate session is followed by a 60 minute cleaning session. Our staff goes through the playground, tiny town, and cafe to thoroughly clean all surfaces before finishing up with a sanitizing spray. We require all our guests to wash their hands before playing and wear socks to help keep our space as clean as possible.
  • Do you have memberships?
    Yes we do! Frequent visitors love our money-saving membership options. Being a member has more perks than just saving money on playdates - like a free drink every month, special members only events, and saving 10% on all cafe purchases!
  • Do you offer coffee delivery?
    Yes we do. It’s easy to enjoy Backyard Play Cafe beverages without stepping foot in the cafe. Check out our cafe page here to connect directly to our DoorDash, or to request a Large Order Delivery or Corporate Catering.
  • Do I have to be the child’s legal guardian to bring them to play?
    Not at all! Babysitters, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends are all welcome to bring kids in to play.
  • Can we have a birthday party here?
    Definitely! We love to celebrate with our customers. Check out our birthday party FAQ for more information. We do not allow birthday celebrations (including cake, cupcakes, gifts, or decor) during a regular playdate.
  • I want to book a birthday party! What do I need to do?
    It’s easy to book a party online - simply select the date and time you’d like to book on our calendar. After you choose the date and time, you’ll answer some party-specific questions that help us know exactly what kind of party you’re dreaming of. It’s ok if you don’t know all the answers right now - we will work with you to plan the perfect party. We do require a $100 deposit at the time of booking to secure your party.
  • What happens after I book a party?
    Your reservation goes straight to our party people who will begin planning your special day. We will connect with you within a few days to confirm your reservation and answer any questions you might have about our different packages or add-on options. We will reach out to you again about ten days before your party to confirm all your details - at this time, we’ll send out your finalized invoice. Finally, we connect one more time right before your party to make sure you’re feeling satisfied and ready to party! Your final invoice is due before the start of your party and can be paid online or in the cafe when you arrive.
  • Can we bring in our own food or cake?
    Yes! We allow parties to bring in any food or dessert items. We do require that all food and dessert stay in the private party room. This ensures that our playground and cafe stay clean! Don’t want to provide your own food? No problem! You can choose from a variety of food or dessert items from our add-on options, and let us handle it for you!
  • Is the cafe open to the public during my party?
    Every party has access to our private party room for the duration of the reserved event, plus 15 minutes prior to the party start time. Every party package includes playground access for up to 15 children, not including your birthday child. Other patrons would be able to book a playdate during that time, up to our capacity at any given time. In addition, our cafe is open for drink sales and delivery.
  • I want to invite more than fifteen kids - what do I need to know?
    No problem! Each additional child is $10. We keep track of the number of children who attend your party, and take care of any remaining balance toward the end of your party.
  • Is the birthday party deposit refundable?
    The deposit is used to secure your reservation and is non-refundable. In the event of a cancellation (at least 14 days prior to your party), we do allow you to put the deposit toward a different party date and time.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
    Sometimes, life throws you a curveball. We are always happy to reschedule your event and apply your deposit towards that new date/time. If an event is fully cancelled and not rescheduled, our nonrefundable deposit of $100 is forfeit.
